What we offer
Programs
At the Mid-County Community Center you are more than just a participant — you’re a friend. We strive to always listen and be responsive to the people we serve.
Dancing
Nothing brings together physical well-being and fun quite like dancing! We are proud to offer both Line Dancing and Ballroom dancing programs each week.
Good Food = Great Times
Well-balanced meals are part of being healthy and happy. Through our Mealsite programs, our food bank, and other nutrition programs, we work arduously to improve the nutritional health of the older adults we serve — over 30% of our participants are at a high or moderate nutritional risk.
Volunteering
We provide opportunities for older and retired persons to share their talents and expertise through RSVP (Retired and Senior Volunteer Persons) — and we welcome volunteers of all ages who would like to plug in to their community and help us serve others.
Education
Educational programs throughout the year keep our older adults in touch with what matters most to them — in partnership with AARP, SSA, Pierce County ADRC, the Pierce County Sheriff, Good Samaritan, and many more.
Exercise
We all need exercise to keep our bodies working well. We offer programs geared directly to older adults, including Yoga, Walking, and the SAIL exercise program.
Art
Programs to satisfy the artist in all of us — acrylic and oil painting groups, a sewing circle, and a partnership with Seniors Making Art to enhance lives through creative expression.
Computers
We teach computer classes to help our community keep up with the technology age. We have a full computer lab — if you need to surf the web or type some letters, feel free to do it here.
Come through our doors — you’ll leave with new friends.
